Recycled shoes

Thu, Jan 8, 2009

Green Pages

Currently 95% of all leather is tanned using chrome, a heavy metal that is potentially carcinogenic. Terra Plana makes shoes from chrome-free leather for the uppers, recycled foam and latex sourced from the sap of the lactae hevea trees. Recycled materials are used as a matter of course and include leather car seat scraps, coffee bags, quilts and parachutes.
